It all started with a swipe and a match on Valentine’s Day 2024. A few days later, Allison and Joseph met for their first date at Pure Project in Balboa Park, where the conversation flowed as easily as the craft beer. Their first kiss a few dates later made it clear that they had found something special.

Their relationship quickly found its rhythm through simple, meaningful moments. Joseph impressed Allison by cooking her dinner, sparking what would become their favorite tradition: recurring Wednesday date nights. Between long walks where they’d talk for hours, exploring the Museum of Contemporary Art in La Jolla (where they took their very first photo together), and bonding over their shared love of live comedy and music, they realized how much they truly enjoyed just being in each other's company.

Summer 2024 was a season of introductions. In June, Allison met Joseph’s parents in La Jolla and then dived headfirst into his world at the San Diego Beer Fest with his friends. By August, it was time to head East. Joseph flew to New England to meet Allison’s parents and family, spending time together in the beautiful White Mountains of New Hampshire.

As the seasons changed, so did their lives. In September, Joseph helped Allison navigate a move from Bankers Hill to La Jolla, a gesture that meant the world to her. The following months were filled with the things they love most: hiking, camping, and countless dinners spent together. They closed out their first year together with a major milestone: their first big international trip. Joining Joseph's family, they traveled to France, falling in love with the city of Paris and the snowy landscapes of Chamonix. Their time abroad further reassured them of their deep compatibility and love for each other.

By early 2025, they were ready to officially combine their lives, and Allison moved into Joseph’s apartment. They spent that spring enjoying making the space their own. In June, Allison pulled off a surprise birthday party for Joseph in North Park, followed by a season full of Padres games, Comic-Con adventures, and quality time with their favorite people.

The highlight of their journey came in August 2025 during a road trip up the California coast. Against the beautiful backdrop of Monterey, Joseph proposed! They spent the rest of that trip exploring national parks and celebrating their new chapter together.

Life has gotten busier, and significantly better since! They recently moved into a new townhome in Clairemont and celebrated their engagement with family and friends in Newburyport, Massachusetts. Allison and Joseph are incredibly grateful for the path that led them here and cannot wait to celebrate their wedding day with all of you this fall!
